I took my new wedges out for a spin on Friday night and they subsequently look like they've been attacked by an overly enthusiastic chipmunk. I meant to take a photo of my outfit before I left but I ended up being a bit pushed for time, and shall we just say that none of the photos taken at the actual event will be seeing the light of day anytime soon...
I also enrolled in uni this week! I'll be studying science and engineering at Curtin and they're even lovely enough to give me $20,000 to do it. Sadly I get the feeling that the funds will not be going towards lovely shoes and accessories, but instead towards heavy books and petrol.

kitties & a kitchen that is not mine
Thankfully after about a week of tropical, humid weather in Perth we are back to normal blazing heat minus the humidity. I am so ready for winter right now!
I also finally got a job! It’s a part time thing which means I get sick leave/holiday pay but unfortunately the hourly rate is less…but the hours are flexible so it will be great during uni. I’m now spending my money before I earn it…
yay! I went into Betts on a whim last week, just to have a look at their new season stock that is starting to roll in everywhere (I’ve already got about a million things on my wishlist for winter, I’ll do a post of it at some stage), but I got distracted by the clearance table. Last pair, my size, $29.99. Yes please!! I wanted them a while back but could never get my size- I should get quite a few wears out of them before winter!
Return of the Ugly Shorts…and frozen coke! I don’t normally like coke that much but when it gets hot I really crave it. (I don’t know what’s going on with my knees in that picture, I’m sure they weren’t that infectious-looking in real life.)
I’m house sitting this week, which means I have inherited two kitties and a dog, who proceeded to attack my new shoes with much enthusiasm.

Ugly Shorts & Bargain of the Century
The more I look at these shorts the more I regret buying them. I think I'd like them better if they were more high waisted or less denim. And for some reason I look a bit fat in this photo >:
The amount I wear these shoes is almost shameful, but they're just so incredibly comfortable. I need to buy new shoes so badly but there are just so many that I want and so many that just don't fit!!
And to round off the afternoon (and what is turning into quite a long post!), a little DIY project...
John Farnham never looked so good!
I picked up a couple of bits and pieces while op shopping but the most noteable has to be this coat- it was only 5 dollars!! The cut is a little reminiscent of a lab coat but i think with a black or dark red scarf, black tights and some heels in winter it'll work. 5 dollars!! (I wish it was winter already)

Coffee & A classic
Today I woke up feeling rotten so I put some eye drops in, made coffee and painted my nails a summer colour. Then I spent the afternoon listening to the shins and reading harry potter.
I also made this salad with beetroot, orange, fetta cheese and rocket with balsamic vinegar- it was delicious.
Day = turned around

too hot for creativity & pretty shiny things
I went to Bali over new years and I can honestly say I enjoyed it a lot more than I’d thought I would, and plan to go back ASAP with friends. Next week I’ll start getting some things together for proper posts, but for now I leave you with a couple of boring outfits I wore for gatherings of some kind over the silly season…

And a couple of new rings I added to my growing collection over Christmas- props for reasonably well focused close ups!
Ps while on holiday the charger for the shock proof water proof family camera went missing so we had to use mine- my dad discovered there was a giant fingerprint over the camera lens, possibly why my photos had been so crappy in the past?? *facepalm*
